Phew... I made it through this week :)

And now, onto the weekend.  Plans include:

Saturday:

-AM [sometime] RUN
-11am haircut with Murat [he’s my boy]
-2pm lunch date with friend in Eastern Market
-Whenever I get home, Brian and I are going to have dinner fun time at either Agraria Farmers in Georgetown, or La Tomate near Dupont. Decisions, decisions.

Sunday:

-Adventure run [getting ready for the Turkey trot] UNLESS IT RAINS, then it’s gymmin’
-R&R with a movie… whatever Blockbuster Online sent??!  Brian manages the queue.
-Online shopping… whaaaa?  OH, and a trip to Chinatown to hit up Urban Outfitters

It may not sound like fun to you, but this is a well rounded weekend for me; fun with friends, relaxation with Bri-guy, and some exerciso.

If I don’t post much this weekend, I wish you all the best weekend possible [good music, fun happenings, a beverage of choice, and possibly some company?!].

I forgot to mention my 1st Place!!

I mentioned earlier this week that I entered my company’s fall baking contest.  Yesterday we had our “Thanksgiving” dinner over lunch and guess who won 1st prize in the cookie/brownie/other division — yeah, that’s right… ME!!!!  I made a velvet cocoa sandwich cookie — homemade cream cheese filling sandwiched by two delectable chocolate cookies with chocolate chunks… YUM!!!  So, along with bragging rights, I scored a $50 bill :)  Tax Free… I gush over small things.

Boss meets with four employees for a difficult discussion:

”- I’m really sorry but I’m going to have let one of you go.”

Black employee: - “I’m a protected minority”

Female employee:- “And I am a woman”

Oldest employee: - “Fire me,buster, and I’ll hit you with an age discrimination suit so fast it’ll make your head spin”

To which they all turn to look at the helpless young, white, male employee, who thinks a moment, then responds: “I think I might be gay…”.

Focus on Being Happy!

I swear that this is true for most people [not just women]… no matter how in shape or healthy we look, we always see something different in the mirror.  If we were only this focused on being happy, life would probably be much more fun.

I use the word “we” lightly; I will admit that I don’t actually look in the mirror and see a double image of myself.  The sad part is that I know a lot of women and men who do, and make themselves miserable over it.

tresladies: Jr league hh at Vapiano—- with free wine tasting :) This is a great place to meet up with friends… especially if you’re meeting up with someone you haven’t seen in a long time [someone you would consider an acquaintance].  But, their happy hour wine isn’t always the greatest, but for $4 a glass, one shouldn’t complain too much.

Sorry I've been M.I.A today... I've been Scheming!

Every year our company hosts a Thanksgiving dinner… they supply the Turkey, and the other various foods you can gorge yourself with over this Gluttonous holiday.  I digress, the only thing they don’t supply is dessert… instead of buying it, they have a baking contest, and from what I’ve heard, it gets down right ugly [in terms of competitive].  As soon as I heard that, I entered.  These bastards don’t have anything on me.

There are 4 categories:  pies [not my thing], cake, cookies/bars/other, and cheesecake.  I entered all except for pies [mainly because I refuse to make a pie that does not have graham cracker crust… and my entry just wouldn’t suffice with the people who judge].

1st prize in each category gets $50; runner up in each category gets $25.  Now, this may seem simple, but my company, being so health forward [serious, we advise people and sell supplements] have a bunch of bakers who can whip up some delectable, yet, butter-laden foods.  SO, ladies and gents, it’s time for me to bust out that full fat every baking ingredient [and real sugar] and get crackin… my baking commences tomorrow and ends at midnight.
